Description

Leadership transitions are inevitable, but disruption does not have to be. Effective succession planning is not just about replacing a departing leader; it is about building a sustainable leadership pipeline that strengthens organizational resilience over time. This interactive session will guide participants through a practical, structured approach to succession planning that goes beyond emergency preparedness and focuses on long-term organizational health.

Attendees will learn how to assess internal talent, identify high-potential staff, and create intentional development plans that  align with future leadership needs.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with a clear framework and actionable tools and policies to begin or strengthen their own succession planning efforts, ensuring continuity, stability, and ongoing mission impact.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the three primary types of succession planning.
  • Apply the five steps for successful succession planning.
  • Identify and develop high performers for leadership roles.
  • Address and mitigate common challenges in succession planning, including emergency succession planning.
